I’m in Your Timeline

I interrupted my vacation from writing to put together this space age love song. The timelines in the chorus refer to what many people would call destiny. Timelines may be influenced by ancestor guides such as the one I met in the dream. The unusually elaborate rhyming scheme symbolizes the difficult and improbable work of aligning two timelines.

Lyrics

I heard a different presence
In my dreams last night
It was not quite your voice
But it felt so right

I bought my tickets
Years and years ago
I have doubted my choice
But now I know

I’m in your timeline
And I think you’ll find
You’re in mine
I’m in your timeline
And I think you’ll find
You’re in mine
This is only the kiss
Only the kiss
Of our time

Worlds apart but spirits
Rearrange the sky
What we made words can’t say
Worlds can’t buy

In my heart only moments
Fairy tales and dreams
Can it be that this day
Is what it seems

I’m in your timeline
And I think you’ll find
You’re in mine
I’m in your timeline
And I think you’ll find
You’re in mine
This is only the kiss
Only the kiss
Of our time
This is only the kiss
Only the kiss
Of our time
This is only the kiss
Only the kiss
Of our time

I like in how the words I think can be open to interpretation. I instantly thought of a book I read once that dealt with Aboriginal Timelines, but i can't recall the name of it at the moment. Ultimately, I see this as meaning we're all connected no matter which path it is we choose. Reminded me of someone from my own past, who said once that even though we're going to be far apart, we still sleep under the same sky and to not forget that. Anyway, I enjoyed listening to you play and sing. Good sounds too!
