Lake Water
Liner Notes

After much writer's block, a garage sale, and a failing AC unit, I've finally come around to posting another song!
This is a silly song that came about after thinking about how I like the lake but can't swim very well among other things (I originally had a line mentioning drinking lake water...). Ironically, I live in what's known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" but my swimming abilities are just a bit better than a rock! The deeper meaning of this song is challenging myself to do hard things despite how easy it is to make excuses.
If I end up liking this in the long run, it might go through some changes. I honestly find this song a little cringy but I suppose that is part of the process... Regardless, it is here for the Internet to see :)
Chords: Capo 4

Soli Deo Gloria
Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I've been walking just outside the lake, living on the ground
I've been taking trails around the lake, watching lovely birds
[Pre-Chorus]
Well, I suppose it would be good to learn just how they float
Well, I think I might just go and walk instead
[Chorus 1]
Cause’ I just can't seem to find out the way to float
I could use a boat
I just can't seem to find out the way to swim
I could use some fins, yeah
[Verse 2]
I've been walking just outside the lake, taking lovely photos
I've been checking texts around the lake, using my smart phone
[Pre-Chorus]
Well, I know it's good to take a chance so I should try
Well, I know I won't just sink if I don't try
[Chorus 1]
I just can't seem to find out the way to float
I could use a boat
I just can't seem to find out the way to swim
I could use some fins, yeah
[Bridge]
I can't win if I don't try
I can't lose my soul inside
They could get some good from me
They could see that love’s not free
[Chorus 2]
I might just try to find out the way to float
Go jump off that boat
And I might just try to find out the way to swim
No need for those fins
I might just try to find out the way to float
Go jump off that boat
And I might just try to find out the way to swim
No need for those fins
