Liner Notes

This is just a made up tale of a girl on a motorcycle that I dug up from the archives. The ideas for this came to me sometime in the late 80's, so it might seems a bit dated and probably slightly sexist-ish (my apologies if I offend, I added a NSWF label) - I rewrote it a bit... #acoustic #singersongwriter #folk #mandolin #acousticguitar

Lyrics

Cruisin' down the highway
Big confidence within
Hangin' on for dear life
Hair blowin' in the wind

Road map at the ready
Sunshine on her face
Gotta hit the road, boy
Got no time to waste

She's a blonde on a Honda
Goin' fast, never slow
The engine roars, the great outdoors
It's best to let her go

Look out your rear view
She's coming up behind
Move over, let her pass
For the good of all mankind

Easy streets, wild as can be
Blonde on a Honda, riding free
Tailpipe echoes, summer flair
Every rev casts away her cares

She's a blonde on a Honda
Goin' fast, never slow
The engine roars, the great outdoors
It's best to let her go

Night falls, stars burn down
She keeps on rollin' on
Engine's hummin' soothin' tones
Heart controls her bones

She's a blonde on a Honda
Goin' fast, never slow
The engine roars, the great outdoors
It's best to let her go
The engine roars, the great outdoors
It's best to let her go

Nice song, always like a mandolin notes sounding out. Nice summer song , easy going , driving along song.

Charming song! There's a momentum going on that fits both the melody and the story. I didn't pick up on any sexism, so I guess that's a good thing. I liked the double meaning of, "It's best to let her go."

Frankly I don't comprehend this remotely hinting towards sexist. It seems to me this narrative supports a type of feminist freedom. No boundaries. Open road could be an allegory for opportunity or discovery. The Honda is a means to get there. This is a good journey and very nice write. Glad you were able to mine this treasury from ideas past.

Fun song! The lyrics are terrific and your presentation is perfect. I love the guitar work and the mandolin really adds nicely.

It's a really cute song, and I very much enjoyed the fingerpicking. It complimented the melody well
