What everyone said about "slip"/"slide"! the lyrics are so tightly written, I can barely believe it's a skirmish. A cautionary tale!

"As you let it slip / I should have let it slide" is a marvellous bit of parallelism. This is great! Your grammar constructions are so fancy too, it really elevates the lyrics and makes them feel like they have real consequence for the speakers. It's very classy!
