Liner Notes

Started this weekly prompt while waiting for my husband's radiation treatment yesterday. Everyday for 30 days, chemo pills and radiation, then waiting for the reactions at home, and sleepless nights. I am looking forward to the end of August when he is finished this routine, and hopefully regaining his old self again. If anyone thinks this is worthy of music, #collaborationswelcome

Lyrics

Lost My Way
[Verse 1]
In a sterile room, the news was cold
A silent tear, the fear took hold.
Doctor’s words a heavy weight
A battle starting, sealed fate.

The ambient hum, a constant drone
In the stillness, feeling so alone
Needles and lines, the treatment starts
Echoes of hope within my heart.

[Pre Chorus]
Every heartbeat, a fragile thread
Every moment, a whispered dread
In the haze of uncertainty
Searching for what’s left of me

[Chorus]
I'm lost in low fidelity
In the hum and the haze,
Where echoes whisper softly,
I drift through endless days

[Bridge]
In the darkness, a light so faint
A promise made, a soul’s restraint
Each breath a step towards the dawn
Holding on until the pain is gone.
With every struggle, every tear
The end of fear is drawing near
In the low fidelity, I find
A strength that’s rooted in my mind

[Chorus] x2
I'm lost in low fidelity
In the hum and the haze,
Where echoes whisper softly,
I drift through endless days

[Outro]
In the echoes, I hear my own voice
In the haze, I make my choice
To look beyond, to find my way
Through endless nights to brighter days.

These lyrics are so honest. You skillfully blend deep emotion with the matter of fact details of hospital life. I hope things improve. I will try and write music for these words if that's OK with you

@yewnorker thank you for your support and encouragement.

First and foremost, prayers and empathy for you both, as you go through this. We're lucky to live in the age we live in, where there are options and treatments available. 'Come September' will make a great follow up lyric title for you. This one needed to be written, and well-written it was, but I hope you play your happier ones. One day at a time, Linda.

Best wishes to your husband and to you. Hoping for brighter days, as you say in the lyric, and for someone to find the right way to set this to music. It definitely deserves it!
