Lyrics

7in7 prompt: Write a love song or ballad towards a rather mundane chore.

i know it’s getting late on sunday nite
it won’t be long til the monday sun shines bright

It’s time to set free
the things that we left
discarded in plastic bags of heft

When I wake up
I know you’ll be gone
but the memories live on

we had our time
to say goodbye
and now our time
is done

I lock the door as it closes me inside
i see a box behind the bin that tried to hide

It’s time to set free
the things that we left
discarded in plastic bags of heft

When I wake up
I know you’ll be gone
but the memories live on

we had our time
to say goodbye
and now our time
is done

We do this dance every week
and we just smile but never speak

we had our time
to say goodbye
and now our time
is done

Well, clearly the fundamental premise of a massive piano ballad about taking the bins out is utterly GENIUS. Musically, it put me in mind of Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved. Great write and delivery!

I really love this - a sentimental ballad about chores is just brilliant in my book. I can just hear the chorus of cellos and violins come in as you sing "I lock the door..."

This is wonderful, thank you so much for sharing.
