Liner Notes

There was no time for music after I arrived at the skirmish with 14 minutes to go — but that fits.

Lyrics

I’m riding on the Earth Express
Roaring down the track
Seems like I’m the only one to look ahead
No time for looking back

Gone are the days of a man, a plan
That form of travel was too slow
Itinerary pending
Just get on board and go

There’s no margin of error
No room for a mistake
Yes that’s a red light
Someone step on the brake

No one heard my last message
It was longer than three minutes
On a day like this a man starts to ramble
And that’s just what he gets

All resources are so limited
Time seems to slip away
Maybe I got filtered
These days who can say

There’s no margin of error
No room for a mistake
Yes that’s a red light
Someone step on the brake

Everything rests
On the edge of a knife
Controls and tests
Run for your life

The butterfly effect has now
Taken over the power grid
One quantum cat caught the mouse
One slinked away and hid

It’s the same with the trains
One goes up in a ball of fire
The other rolls on going faster
This will come down to the wire

There’s no margin of error
No room for a mistake
Yes that’s a red light
Someone step on the brake

This is a fantastic use of the prompt, You feel the movement and the sense of foreboding in the lyrics. Very well done, especially for a skirmish!

Such a great lyric with a bit of a grim reminder of possible perils of technology and so called “advances”…. I still like the slow train approach to life!

@val
Good lyrics! It definitely does feel like the world is spinning out of control at break neck speed. Some one stop this train, I want to get off!

Love the train metaphor and how you've followed the theme of lights through your lyrics!

I love how the lyrics flow from the verses to the main chorus, it's amazing song writing. Glad you could be part of my skirmish :)
