#acoustic
A labor protest song, but this time for a psychological purpose — some early morning parts work on the subject of self rebellion. What if you didn’t trust yourself to give direction to your own life?

Lyrics

I do not like these directions
That come down from upstairs
Why can’t we take suggestions
From somebody who cares

We strain until we sweat
We press until we bleed
Who ever thought that we could get
These plans to succeed

The CEO I find
Is not well qualified
And I should know
I am the CEO

To make a crisis from a normal day
Mountains out of hills
That does not take an MBA
Those are no special skills

A basic level of attention
Is not too much to expect
And did I fail to mention
The value of respect

The CEO I find
Is not well qualified
And I should know
I am the CEO

These latest plans and strategies
Are no more than a whim
We suffer the indignities
The odds we face are slim

Leadership cannot be seen
As some God-given right
Reducing others to machines
It’s time to stand and fight

The CEO I find
Is not well qualified
And I should know
I am the CEO

This is very cool. The chorus is fantastic, that twist, lol

What a great reveal in the hook! And excellent storytelling throughout the verses. Great delivery on a poignant concept.

Self-doubt and recrimination are real, and this captures that feeling nicely. The "I am the CEO" hook works very well, and you perform this with real passion that captures the pain and uncertainty of the lyrics. Nicely done!

I’ve been reading the book of disquiet and this reminds me of the passages about Vazquez the BOSS. Just a cool lil piece of synchronicity I thought I’d share.

Very cool tune that fits the genre well with a unique twist
