Still Ready to Rock

I am starting off 50/90 with a track for the concept album Quarter to Three. Ready to rock, which seems fitting for day 1, but also looking at the origins of C-PTSD. Influences for this song: John Lennon, Queen, Yes.

Lyrics

I don’t want to talk about
Being stuck in a cage
Erased from the world
At two years of age
No water to drink
No food on the block
No one knows I exist
I don’t know how to talk

And all the girls sing
Move yourself
And all the girls sing
Move yourself

All is well
Are you still ready to rock

I don’t want to talk about
Learning to crawl
Choosing my way
And touching the wall
Is this what it’s like
At the end of the Earth
Is this what they call life
Is this all that it’s worth

And all the girls sing
Prove yourself
And all the girls sing
Prove yourself

All is well
Are you still ready to rock
All is well
Are you still ready to rock

I don’t want to talk about
Learning to read
Singing the praises
Of hatred and greed
Gazing in wonder
At destruction and war
Is this all there is
Or will there someday be more

And all the girls sing
See yourself
And all the girls sing
See yourself

All is well
Are you still ready to rock

I don’t want to talk about
Going to school
Reading the stop signs
Knowing the rules
Climbing the stairs
Going the length of the hall
Not saying a word
Nothing at all

And all the girls sing
Be yourself
And all the girls sing
Be yourself

All is well
Are you still ready to rock
All is well
Are you still ready to rock
All is well
Are you still ready to rock
All is well
Are you still ready to rock

"All the girls sing be yourself" is carrying a whole lot of bitter irony by the time you get to that point in the song. And well done with one-handed guitar playing! I don't even know how that works, but it does.

Lot of truth... I'm feeling it.
